FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Below You’ll Find Answers To The Questions We Get Asked The Most

Are the OrthoGen regenerative procedures different from other stem cell procedures offered at other clinics?

Yes. In several ways. First, our double board-certified physicians offer a level of experience and expertise that few other clinics can match. Each physician has the skill and expertise to modify and revise procedures to make sure each client gets the best possible outcome.

OrthoGen utilizes a comprehensive treatment protocol, usually including a stem cell injection and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to ensure maximum benefit.  Most other clinics offer a much more limited treatment protocol.

Also, our stem cell products are tested to confirm a substantial level of highly potent stems cells. Many clinics today offer “regenerative therapy” with products that actually have little or no stem cells.

Always check the qualifications of the physicians treating you, and the quality of products they are using.

Are OrthoGen procedures covered by insurance?

Our proprietary KneeGen 5 program IS covered by Medicare and most major insurances.

For regenerative and blood platelet therapies, insurance does not provide coverage.

What is the difference between Stem Cell Therapy and PRP?

PRP is using concentrated platelets in the blood to accelerate healing. Stem Cell Therapy is using actually stem cells that will adapt to be the cells needed to repair the damaged cells and promote natural healing through the regeneration of healthy cells.

We do have proprietary treatments where we combine the benefits of the two treatments.

Does my age make a difference in the effectiveness of stem cell therapy?

Recent research shows the older age does not make a difference with stem cell therapy.

What does post injection rehab entail?

Following most of our injection therapies we recommend our patients limit activities for 2-3 days. Activities can then gradually increase back to normal over the next 6 weeks.

Can I treat more than one area at a time?

While it can be done, we rarely recommend it. We like to focus on providing just the right dosage and treatment for one injury at a time. This is not a science of one size fits all.
