HOW IT WORKS

PRP is an all-natural process that uses the natural healing process in your own blood.

The platelets in your blood are rich in what are called growth factors. These growth factors work naturally to stimulate the repair process of injured ligaments, joints, and tendons. The idea of PRP therapy is to collect these natural growth factors in very high concentrations and inject them directly into the damaged area to promote rapid, natural healing.

The first step is to draw a small amount of blood from the patient.

The blood is then placed into a centrifuge to separate out the PRP and growth factors. Using the latest advanced imaging technology for pinpoint accuracy, the highly concentrated PRP is injected directly into the damaged area. The process to prepare the PRP takes about 15 minutes and increases the concentration of the growth factors by roughly 500%. The entire process from start to finish takes about 45 minutes.

Because the area is numbed before the injection there is little or no pain. Some patients respond well to just one treatment, but 2-3 treatments over several weeks may be necessary for the best results.

PRP Therapy can be a healthy alternative to cortisone and steroid injections and can be safely administered on a regular basis. PRP provides healing and strengthening to the ligaments and tissue. The therapy can be provided continuously and has the potential to provide true, long term relief.
